Anneliese Depoux is Director of the Virchow-Villermé Public Health Center Paris-Berlin at the Université Paris Cité.Dr Anneliese Depoux leads the Centre Virchow-Villermé,
a French-German research center for Public Health. The Centre has developed a significant research expertise on the health impacts of climate change, which incorporate
social science insights. Dr Depoux is herself a communication scientist, who has developed a specific expertise in the advocacy and dissemination of Public Health messages.
Her research focuses mainly on the issues of media coverage of health crises related to environmental degradation, climate change, and migration. She is a member of the
Centre des Politiques de la Terre, and the Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education at Columbia University.
The Virchow-Villermé Center has become Europe’s leading producer of online educational materials in global health (20 MOOCs distributed), ranking second in the world after the prestigious
Johns Hopkins University. The MOOCFactory has notably developed a series of resources for training on global health issues. Within this framework, Anneliese Depoux devotes a significant part
of her research to the analysis of new digital formats that have become established in the field of university pedagogy.
