Bio:
Pierre Ozer holds a PhD in Geographical Sciences (ULg, 2000) and has worked for various institutions[BEp1] such as the Università degli Studi di Genova (Genoa, Italy),
the University of Luxembourg, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO, Rome) and the Fondation Universitaire Luxembourgeoise. Passionate about
landscapes and the other in all its richness and diversity, his numerous projects have taken him to various regions of the globe, from Latin America to Asia,
including Africa, where he currently focuses most of his research. In 2009, he was elected full member of the Royal Academy of Overseas Sciences, Brussels.
He led the Belgian scientific delegation to the United Nations international negotiations on combating desertification (COP-9 UNCCD, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 2009).
Climatologist specialized in desertification processes, natural disasters management, consequences of environmental changes on public health and adaptation strategies to climate change,
Pierre Ozer teaches these subjects at the University of Liège but also at the Università degli Studi di Genova (Italy), the Università degli Studi di Sassari (Italy), the University of Angers
(France), the Universitatea din Bucuresti (Romania) through Erasmus agreements as well as at the University of Parakou (Benin) and the University of Djibouti (Djibouti) thanks to international
bilateral agreements.
He is the author of five books and more than 250 scientific and popular publications in these fields.
